Learning Materials Workshop was the U.S. distributor for Reggio Children publications from 2005 to 2015. Karen Hewitt, president of LMW, first visited Reggio Emilia in 1993 where she observed the extraordinary work in the infant-toddler and preschool centers and attended seminars with Loris Malaguzzi. The connection between children’s learning, open-ended materials, and the environment resonated with her work as an early childhood educator and a designer of children’s toys.
